WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — A new course approved by the Automotive Management Institute (AMI) and taught by Steve Feltovich, manager of business consulting services for Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corporation, will teach shop owners, production managers and fixed operations managers how to analyze all aspects of the collision repair business while identifying opportunities to make it run more efficiently and more profitably.
The full-day, hands-on workshop, “Improving Workshop Efficiency,” will provide participants with the skills, knowledge and tools necessary to improve their collision centers’ quality, production output and profitability.
“This is a very comprehensive learning class on how to apply lean production principles to collision repair environments,” says Feltovich. “By incorporating these principles into day-to-day repair procedures, students can learn how to reduce waste in inventory, time, material, extra steps/procedures and excessive facility capacity and equipment.”
Topics covered include:
• Origins of lean production
• Running the workshop more effectively and efficiently
• Raising the output quality while lowering operating costs
• Capturing more market share through continuous improvement
• Maximizing production and profit opportunities
• Developing systems and processes to assure customer loyalty
According to former class participant, Mike McDonald of Sterling Autobody Centers: “This is an excellent class that covers the overall principles of lean production processes. It gave me a clearer understanding of how to apply them to any given situation within my business to help grow my bottom line.”
