Shop owners don't commiserate but problem solve in CARS session

LAS VEGAS ? The topics that keep shop owners up at night and concerned about is not the same thing as what drew their attention a couple of years ago. But putting a group of owners together in one room during CARS might help a few owners sleep a little easier. A four-owner panel discussion turned into a sharing of ideas at ?What Are Owners Doing Differently Today that They Weren?t Doing 18 Months Ago?? during the Friday morning education session at CARS. Covering topics from operations to services, marketing and more, many attendees walked out with at least a couple of ideas on how to handle what they?re facing.

Tenneco sets, achieves goals of complete coverage

LAS VEGAS ? Heading into 2010, Tenneco has its sights set on continued coverage, some specific models and a new warranty. Monroe shocks is pushing its covers in the coming year, including pressing its first to market and late model applications, says Bill Dennie, director, Ride Control Channel Management, Tenneco. The company also is going after Kia and Hyundai for 2010 as part of its coming 160-plus new SKUs.

Mike Guggenheimer, vice president of marketing, says the company is boasting a new Web site, www.liquidwrench.com, that features new search functions and more specific application videos that are tailored to technicians? needs. By implementing these new functions as well as a new texting feature, Liquid Wrench is hoping to reach more end users with more specific content.

Tire Rack attacks challenges of winter with consumer-oriented driving suggestions

New Indiana Snider Tire retread plant to supply Arkansas and Ohio outlets

Snider Tire has opened a new retreading plant in Bluffton, Ind. The facility, which utilizes Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT), will be supplying Snider?s Tire and Retread Asset Control System (TRACS) to company locations in Blytheville, Ark. and Cambridge, Ohio.
